What the hell is going on with the Sci-fi channel the past couple of years? Damn I hate that channel. They play the worst crap! Every time I turn it to the channel crap like komodo movies(or those stupid ass Shark Attack movies), stupid shows like SG-1 Atlantis and Tripping the Riff and some dumbass reality show about guys that call themselves T.A.P.S. who investigate rednecks houses that are suppose to be haunted. Then the other day I turn it to the Sci-fi channel and Vampire in Brooklyn is on. Errrr what the....I hate you Sci-fi channel. Bastards cancelled Mystery Science Theater 3000 so they could have more John Edwards! I do like Scare Tactics...I will give you that Sci-fi channel.

Does anyone feel the same or am I the only one?

Thanks to Sci-fi we are blessed with their original movies like Boa Vs. Python. Sheesh...do they think their audience is retarded?

Yeah, they've gone from showing cool old cheesy scifi movies every day to nonstop "original" programming, which usually blows. I liked "Scare Tactics" when it first started, but since the chubby blonde Baldwin took over it's taken a serious IQ hit, and the quotient wasn't really that high to begin with. ;)

Definitely too much Stargate and Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-12345 and Stargate Nursery School and wtf ever going on, though. But hey, they're doing an original Twilight Zone marathon for New Year's Eve, so that'll be nice.

Only thing I watch on Sci Fi now is Ghost Hunters. All other shows aren't to my likin', and the movies they show are either A: crap, or B: butchered to Hell.

I knew it was all over when I saw them showing Mission:Impossible the other day. Because ya know when I think of science fiction, I think of Mission:Impossible. :bludgeon:

I remember when SciFi first launched it was amazing the stuff they showed.

They had this one news show about comic books hosted by some kid with blue hair or something. I'd wake up early as hell on Sunday mornings just to watch it.

Anyone else know that the show I'm talking about?

Harlen Ellison was on it all the time, and he creeped the shit out of me everytime he said anything.

I remember Blind Date's Roger Lodge hosted a round table show on Sci-Fi, and there was another one called Sci-fi Buzz which had a lot of news and Ellison did a rant. And who can forget Trailer Park?! Ahh, the good ol' days!

I always wondered why SciFi didn't pick up MTV's Fear after MTV dropped it. That was one reality show I was really into, just b/c the setups were so great and the interesting thing was watching these young kids scaring the crap out of themselves on camera.

That'd be a marked improvement over Stargate: Babylon 5 Galactica. :D

like all of you i am sick of the sci fi channel all they play are stupid giant snake, bats, beetles or dragon movies. no more of this. why dont they bring back the hammer horror series or friday the 13th series. there is so much good quality scifi out there. i am begining to wonder if they do not care about what viewers want.

what's the channel you speak of??? oh, yeah the SCI-FI channel. not the comedy channel....not the horror channel. yes, it's the star trek, stargate, battlestar, buck rodgers channel. i too loathe these shows, especially the stargate fridays, but i understand that when i tune in to a channel about science fiction, they will show scientific mutations, spaceships, lasers, and phasers. the twilight zone, ghosthunters, proof positive, and scare tactics are bonuses. if it's horror you want on t.v. dig a little deeper. i watch horror every night on basic cable. travel channel, history channel, amc, tcm, nick, discovery, disney, court tv, fx, scifi, all show something on various nights of the week. get the listings at tv guide online or something. i'm a documentary freak, so a lot of the channels i mentioned are showing haunted stuff or serial killer stuff, but friday and saturday are pretty good for classic horror movies on amc.

I know how you feel. What I personally hate the most are those original TV movies put on there. I wish they play "Tales from the Crypt" episodes again so I can watch them until they are out on DVD.
