Can we rejoice, o smothered brothers and twisted sisters, for the DVD release of the ONLY TV show that promised to scare the proverbial crap outta me and DID! I bow to thee, Lance Hendrickson, modern horror icon! Profiler can jump up my dark nether-region!

I'm really looking forward to this too.I really liked this show when it first came on and I agree that Lance Hendrickson was great in the role.I liked Profiler too when it was on.

I've watched about 8 episodes so far and I forgot how good this show was.I'm still surprised by how graphic some of the episodes are considering it was a TV show. The episode where all the victims eyes and mouths are sewed shut and then they're buried alive still creeps me out.

I have been waiting for what seems a lifetime for these..the brad dourif episode is one of my favorites...just can't believe how fucking grim it still seems...I still don't know how I feel about interjecting the supernatural into the show..I have a hunch carter wrote the episode with demonic lawyer/angel after he got wind of Profiler..maybe he wanted to seperate the two more distinctly...
What are peoples takes on Franks ability..its somewhat ambiguous..he makes a comment in the begining refering to the fact "there is nothing magical about it"....however later it seems its somehow supernatural..it has to be more than just his ability to put himself in the mind of the killer..because Jordan inherits his "gift"....thoughts? Speculations?

I've seen most of the 1st season, maybe 1/3rd of the 2nd and half of the 3rd due to I was still working overseas (NOTE: Millennium was heavily advertised in Germany--I coveted an ad that served as a backdrop at a bus stop--but never caught on unlike The X-Files, which was a cult hit--known there as "Akte X"--I think the only foreign country it caught on at was England)--my impression was Frank Black was more of a gifted profiler in the vein of "Will Graham" from the Thomas Harris novels than supernaturally gifted but then it seemed that something happened to him in the time after he left the police force to compel him to join the Millennium Group--I will have to watch again now that I have the DVD set to find out--I know the poor ratings and sarcastic reviews (I will NEVER forgive Ken Tucker from Entertainment Weekly for slobbering over Buffy while lambasting Millennium) forced Chris Carter to move the plot over to a conspiracy theme, a la "The X-Files", but since I never really cared for the conspiracy theme in "X" (up until the LSD/aliens in boxcars/Indian magic eps, I was OK with it), I was prejudiced against it in Millennium, but having a brilliant actor like Terry O'Quinn turn into an antagonist lured me in (the final confrontation between O'Quinn and Hendrickson in the 3rd season is definitely "must-see-TV"!)--I felt the 3rd season was just the producers and writers floundering around while Carter went to work on "Harsh Realm", but there are some good ep's there...

I watched all of the first season, about half of the second and only a few episodes of the third.I can't remember why I kept missing the thrid season episodes. While I've been watching the first season these last few days,I keep thinking it would have been cool if they had had a cameo appearance by Anderson and Duchovney.Something simple like just passing Frank Black in the hall at Quantico or something.
I really like the opening theme music too.Its so mellow but in a way, also a little creepy because of some of the images that are shown during the opening credits along with it.

I was so upset when they cancelled it. But that's what happens with all good tv shows.

I was wondering if anyone else hated season three as much as I did. Season 2 was best fucking thing on T.V. at the time, and I loved how it ended, an Ebola like epidemic on the way and the only people who were going to survive it we're a few isolationist in the middle of the woods, then Season three rolls around and they follow up buy saying it never fucking happened !!!??!!
Absolutely every character relationship was altered , it felt like I was watching some other show.
Was anyone else able to swallow that ??

If it were me, you would have seen an apocalyptic ending show, airing roughly a week before the new year (End of season two was around 2000, I believe) and brought and end to a great little show, i guess making it one long miniseries, but execs smelled a cash cow and voila, instant crapola. Like the last few seasons of the x files, a falling sense of characters and a going through the paces.
Still, towards the end, the episode with the four demons drinking coffee in a diner in the early am and when they brought C Nelson Reilly's character over from Jose Chung's... Talk about a razor sharp satire on scientology and new wave religions in general.
Oh, well, Firefly get's booted in less than a year and Buffy is in syndication everlasting, Millenium is gone, Xfiles isn't even talked about after it's downfall... (Maybe it's payback for the Lone Gunmen spinnoff.) Every good show....
I'm almost afraid to watch the new battlestar Galactica, after such a good mini last year...
Speaking of which, What happened to the moody dark and horrific television I crave...
Most are duds, Freaky links? any one remember that gasp for money? How about the dark shadows redu? house of frankenberry?
The last kick ass (Excepting Millenium) was what? ... The Kindred?
We got the Sci fi channel, western/soap/mystery/action/love/sitcom channels...
Howza bout a freakin HORROR channel, huh?
Ahhh, nuts...
I'm gonna go watch Alien again...

The latest issue of Rue Morgue had an article on the series and stated that the 2nd season would be out by the end of September!

Before I get overly excited, is the box set coming out in September a region 1 or a region 2 format ?

I've added the disks to my netflix list, so it's the cheaper way around having to spend that extra $$$ for the DVD set.
I never watched the show before but I am really enjoying it.

I've never actually seen an episode. Not sure why but I dismissed this a couple years ago wihtout ever giving it a chance. Judging by the responses here I suppose I might've been a bit hasty in passing judgment.
I wonder if re-runs play on Space channel maybe?

I don't think its ever played on SPACE yet but it wouldn't surprise me if it aired on there eventually.

B-
Most of the first season are stand alone episodes, but later the show goes the story line becomes an arch. I would say it will not be as good on re-runs as following it on DVD. And Yeah the show is really very good. It is my favorite show that was ever on TV really. Think of it as a horror geek's CSI of course years before those shows have shit on the air waves.

Got Season 1 for Christmas and I'm enjoyin' every minute of it. I'm only up to disc 3 at the moment (tryin' to make it last until I rake up enough cash to buy Season 2), but damn. I forgot how great this show was! So far, my favorite episodes are 52666, and Wide Open... very good stuff!
Question though for those who remember the show... I remember an episode that had 3 devils disguised as old men who hung out in a donut shop. Was this on Season 2, or was it Season 3? I can't remember much about that episode, but from what I do recall it was the best one I've seen (demonic dancin' babys rule!).

I've been watching season 2 for the last few days and this is one hell of a show.I haven't really been able to remember many of the shows from season 2 but so far my favorite has definately got to be the episode titled,The Mikado which I just finished watching a few minutes ago.

I just finished watching the 3rd and final season of this show and seeing it again just reminds me how under-rated this show was.Its too bad that it didn't go on at least one more season.I think if it had,it would have been a pretty interesting season. At least we got to see Frank on the Millennium episode of The X-Files which is also included in this set.Now all I need is to find out there will be a Millennium movie and my life will be complete :D

When I was watching the 1st season again it was as brilliant as I remembered. Each one blew me away, but I just got/started watching season 2 and I am not as pleased.
The acting is terrible(lance is still great atleast) and the writing has gotten cheezy. It seems like they are trying to do to much, it is not nearly as dark as the 1st season. I am only 5 episodes in...so keep that in mind.
